Meet The Team
The people behind VRAI.
Students

Pure and Applied Sciences Student
Thavin is a Pure and Applied Sciences student at Vanier College with an insatiable curiosity for how intelligent systems work. Driven by the belief that the best way to understand AI is to build it, he started VRAI to turn theoretical knowledge into something tangible, one robot at a time.
Fun Fact
Thavin is a normal human being.

Le Tuan Huy (Tony) Nguyen
Computer Science Student
Tony is a Computer Science student at McGill University, driven by a fascination with the future of intelligent systems. His core passion lies at the intersection of AI and robotics, with a specific interest in developing highly capable, generalist robots that can seamlessly adapt to complex, real-world environments.
Fun Fact
When he isn't coding or thinking about autonomous agents, you can usually find him on the tennis court working on his serve.

Dante Marcogliese
Honours Health Science Student
Dante is a Honours Health Science student at Vanier College. He is passionate about practical robotics and applied engineering. His goal is to apply hands-on robotics and engineering to innovative solutions across emerging industries.
Fun Fact
Dante is a huge music enthusiast and plays the guitar.

Yasmine Ben Arous
Honours Health Science Student
Yasmine is a Honours Health Science student at Vanier College. She is passionate about the intersection between robotics, AI and social issues. She aspires to work in medical technologies and create tech for the good of people.
Fun Fact
Yasmine used to use a flip phone.

Laura Tarita
Honours Health Science Student
I am a college student who is open to learning new things and quickly adapting to new environments. I believe stepping out of your comfort zone and engaging with new people is a great way to cultivate knowledge and gain meaningful experiences.
Fun Fact
I enjoy writing poetry and songs as a way to channel my emotions and express my creativity.

Jacob Huang
Computer Science and Mathematics Student
Jacob is a Computer Science and Mathematics student at Vanier College. He is particularly interested in theoretical mathematics and how it translates to real, useful systems. Intrigued by the mathematical creativity behind neural networks, he joined VRAI to deepen his knowledge and experience in machine learning, a field he hopes to help pioneer as it inevitably reshapes the world as we know it.
Fun Fact
Jacob can speak four languages.

Anh
Pure and Applied Science Student
I am a Pure and Applied Science student at Vanier College. I am passionate about teaching and making learning accessible to everyone. VRAI Lab gives me an opportunity to tackle tricky problems alongside my peers by relying on equal parts logic, teamwork, and a good dose of trial and error.
